Report 2007-A: Pipeline Performance in Alberta, 1990-2005 Issued
The Operations Group, Pipeline Section, is pleased to announce the release of Report 2007-A: Pipeline Performance in Alberta, 1990-2005.
This new report provides a summary of the lengths, sizes, materials of construction, products carried, and operating status of the Alberta oil and gas pipeline network. It also analyzes the reported causes of failure and examines that data for performance trends or concerns. Analysis of release volumes provides information on the number, sizes, and products released by pipeline spills and pressure-test failures. Aggregate data on overall failure frequency are provided and compared against previous years.
The Operations Group last published a detailed analysis of pipeline performance in 1998 (Report 98-G: Pipeline Performance in Alberta). The 2007 report is 65 pages in length and contains a description of the data-gathering and analysis methods, 42 detailed figures with written analysis, commentary on future pipeline initiatives, and a list of reference documents.
Report 2007-A is available on the EUB Web site at www.ercb.ca and from the EUB Information Services. Questions may be directed to (403) 297-8432.
