EUB Land Challenge Initiative: Aberdeen Township Pilot Project

The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) conducted three Land Challenge pilot projects during 2006 and 2007 to improve early consultation of coalbed methane (CBM) development.

One project was located in the Aberdeen township 35-27W4M, east of Innisfail. It brought together a multistakeholder group comprising community, industry, and Red Deer County representatives to determine the concerns and to find practical solutions prior to likely future submission of applications by oil and gas companies currently operating in the area.
