Take Notice that an examiner appointed by the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public hearing of Applications No. 1304833 and 1305584 at the offices of the Board, 640 5th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, commencing on Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.
Nature of the Applications
Application No. 1304833: Northrock Resources Ltd. (Northrock) applied pursuant to section 80 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act (the Act) for an order prescribing that all tracts within the drilling spacing unit comprising Section 3 of Township 43, Range 2, West of the 5th Meridian (Section 3), be operated as a unit for the production of gas from the Glauconitic Sandstone, through the well with the unique identifier of 00/08-03-043-02W5.
Northrock has requested, among other things, that costs and revenues under the pooling order be allocated on a geological basis, with a 53 per cent allocation for the southeast quarter of the section and a 47 per cent allocation to the remainder of the section. In addition, Northrock requested that it be named the operator of the well to be produced under the order, and that the maximum penalty allowed under the Act be applied to a tract's share of the costs of drilling the well to, and completing it in, the formation(s) named in the order, if the tract owner does not pay its share of those costs within 30 days of the later of the pooling order being issued, the tract owner being given written notice of its share of costs, and the well in question being placed on production.
Application No. 1305584: ConocoPhillips Canada Resources Corp. (ConocoPhillips) applied pursuant to section 80 of the Act for an order prescribing that all tracts within the drilling spacing unit comprising Section 3 be operated as a unit for the production of gas from the Glauconitic Sandstone, through the wells with the unique identifiers of 00/06-03-043-02W5 and 00/08-03-043-02W5.
ConocoPhillips has requested, among other things, that costs and revenues under the pooling order be allocated on a tract area basis, with a 25 per cent allocation for the southeast quarter of the section, and 75 per cent for the remainder of the section. In addition, ConocoPhillips requested that it be named the operator of the wells to be produced under the order, and that the maximum penalty allowed under the Act be applied to a tract's share of the costs of drilling the well to, and completing it in, the formation(s) named in the order, if the tract owner does not pay its share of those costs within 30 days of the later of the pooling order being issued, the tract owner being given written notice of its share of costs, and the well in question being placed on production.

Notes
Any submission filed shall contain information detailing:

In accordance with section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.
If there are no valid objections received, this hearing may be cancelled and the EUB will continue to process the applications without further notice or without a hearing.
