Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public hearing of Applications No. 1296093 and 1312608 at the Quality Inn, 11201-100 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta, commencing on Wednesday, January 28, 2004, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.
Nature of the Application
EnCana Corporation (EnCana) has applied pursuant to Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for a licence to drill two Level-1 non-critical sour gas wells from surface locations of Legal Subdivision (LSD) 4 of Section 14, Township 73, Range 12, West of the 6th Meridian (4-14 well) to a projected bottomhole location in LSD 1-15-73-12 W6M; and LSD 8 of Section 10, Township 73, Range 12, West of the 6th Meridian (8-10 well). The proposed 4-14 well would be located approximately 4.4 kilometres south and west of Horse Lakes Settlement. The maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration of the 4-14 well would be approximately 10.69 per cent and the cumulative drilling H2S release rate would be 0.204 cubic metres per second (m3/s). The maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration of the 8-10 well would be approximately 3.58 per cent and the cumulative drilling H2S release rate would be 0.286 cubic metres per second (m3/s). The purpose of the wells would be to obtain gas production from the Doig formation.

Notes

(iii) the reasons why the submitter believes the EUB should decide in the manner advocated; and
(iv) how the proposed project, if approved, may directly and adversely affect the submitter.
If you have an interest in this matter, you are required to make a submission with respect to this application even if you have previously filed a submission with the Board or with EnCana on this application.
If there are no submissions received, this hearing may be cancelled and the EUB will continue to process the application without further notice or without a hearing.
In accordance with Section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.
Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.
