Testimonials

ERCB recognizes that knowledgeable, talented and dedicated employees are the key to our success. We know that people are more likely to choose an organization for potential employment if they are drawn to the unique cultural attributes and values of that organization.

Why work at the ERCB?

The reasons I have CHOSEN to stay at the ERCB for the past 25 years are many, with the people I work with being one of the main reasons. The people here at the ERCB are very helpful, patient and always willing to share their knowledge and this has helped me advance along my career path over the years.

The work I do here is very challenging and with lots of variety and I am given the opportunity to take courses to keep up-to-date with new technology.

The ERCB is very supportive in promoting a good balance between home and work, and my work ethic is acknowledged and appreciated within my group.

The ERCB is a wonderful place for me to work because the organization is willing to be flexible in regard to my work/life schedule. I am a mother of two beautiful little girls who are 3 and 5. My husband is a fireman who works shift work. When we had our children, we were very concerned about putting them in daycare. First I didn’t want to miss a thing! Second, it is expensive and third we live in a northern city where part-time care is not available (you pay for full-time or nothing). I thoroughly enjoy my work at the ERCB which started out as an inspector an ended up a facilitator for the ADR Team. I did not want to give up my career but also wanted to spend more time with my babies....I guess I want it all! My team leader and HR staff took note of my struggle and were very supportive. We sat down to work out a schedule that would work for my family. The result is that I work on opposite days (and 80% schedule) of my husband so that a parent is always at home. This is absolutely invaluable to me. I look forward to a long prosperous career with the ERCB.

Field Operations

All the monetary issues aside, the greatest attribute of this organization is the empowerment they give to their employees. The money and perks are nice, however what I think keeps people working for the ERCB for decades is the ability for all employees to have a sense of value and that the work they do does make a difference. When people feel valued they work harder and they work better as a team, and this creates a great organization. It’s a great organization and I feel fortunate to have discovered it before my working years are over.

I am new immigrant to Canada, I moved to Canada (Calgary) in June 2008 and working for ERCB has been a dream come true. I am a Mechanical Engineer from India and ERCB provides a perfect platform to exercise my technical skills and the opportunity for personal and professional growth. Programs like Mentor/Mentee, lunch bag sessions are really beneficial for new immigrant like me. The warmth provided by my colleagues, supervisors and managers at the ERCB helped me in surviving my first winter.
