NOTICE OF HEARING

APPLICATION NO. 1283201

ALBERTA OIL SANDS PIPELINE LTD.

FOR APPROVAL TO CONSTRUCT AND OPERATE THREE CRUDE OIL PIPELINE LOOPS BETWEEN WANDERING RIVER AND EDMONTON

Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public hearing of this application at the Fort Saskatchewan Best Western Inn and Suites, 10115 - 88 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, commencing on Wednesday, July 2, at 10:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.

Nature of the Application

Alberta Oil Sands Pipeline Ltd. (AOSPL), a member of the Pembina Pipeline Group of Companies (Pembina), has applied pursuant to Part 4 of the Pipeline Act for approval to construct and operate three pipeline loops with a total approximate length of 156 kilometres (km) of 610 millimetre outside diameter pipe. These crude oil pipeline loops would parallel the existing AOSPL pipeline right-of-way or other pipeline and road rights-of-way where feasible. The Wandering River loop would be approximately 40 km in length, constructed between Legal Subdivision (LSD) 12, Section 21, Township 68, Range 17, West of the 4th Meridian (LSD 12-21-68-17 W4M) and LSD 2-3-65-19 W4M. The Boyle loop would be approximately 48 km in length, constructed between LSD 2-3-65-19 W4M and 10-10-60-19 W4M. The Skaro loop would be constructed between 16-32-57-19 W4M and 15-17-53-23 W4M, and have an approximate length of 68 km.

Notes

Any submission filed shall contain information detailing:

(i)                 the desired disposition of the application,

(ii)               the facts supporting the position of the submitter,

(iii)              the reason why the submitter believes the EUB should decide in the manner advocated, and

(iv)     how the proposed project, if approved, may directly and adversely affect the submitter.

If you have an interest in this matter, you are required to make a submission with respect to this application even if you have previously filed a submission with the Board or with Alberta Oil Sands Pipeline Ltd. on this application.

If there are no submissions received, this hearing may be cancelled and the EUB will continue to process the application without further notice or without a hearing.

In accordance with Section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.

Submissions related exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB, but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.
