NOTICE OF CANCELLATION OF HEARING
PART 1 OF PROCEEDING NO. 1457147
BEARSPAW PETROLEUM LTD., DEVON CANADA CORPORATION, ENCANA CORPORATION, FAIRBORNE ENERGY LTD. AND CARBON DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP (SUCCESSOR IN INTEREST TO PRAIRIE MINES AND ROYALTY LTD., FORMERLY LUSCAR LTD.)
CLIVE, EWING LAKE, STETTLER AND WIMBORNE FIELDS

The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) scheduled a public hearing of Part 1 of Proceeding No. 1457147 at the offices of the EUB, 640 – 5 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, commencing on Monday, June 26, 2006, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. Part 1 of the proceeding was scheduled to consider whether interim conditions should be imposed for the measurement and accounting of coalbed methane production in connection with certain well licences, and compulsory pooling and special well spacing orders. Part 2 of the proceeding is to consider the issue of legal entitlement to coalbed methane being produced or intended to be produced from the wells involved.  The Board anticipates that Part 2 of the proceeding will commence in the fall of 2006.

The Board has reviewed the submissions filed respecting Part 1 of the proceeding and has decided that it is not efficient to conduct a proceeding dedicated to the issue of measurement and accounting of coalbed methane production. Any outstanding measurement and accounting issues will be addressed in Part 2 of Proceeding No. 1457147. 

Therefore, Take Notice that the public hearing of Part 1 of Proceeding No. 1457147 to commence on Monday, June 26, 2006, is hereby cancelled.
