Nature of Application 1327299
EOG Resources Canada Inc. (EOG) submitted an application in accordance with Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for a licence to drill a Level-2 critical sour well from a surface location in Legal Subdivision (LSD) 10, Section 35, Township 23, Range 5, West of the 5th Meridian, to a projected bottom hole location in LSD 7-2-24-5W5M. The maximum hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) concentration would be approximately 77.8 moles per kilomole (7.78 percent) and the cumulative drilling H₂S release rate would be 0.93 cubic metres per second (m³/s) with a corresponding emergency planning zone of 2.19 kilometres. The purpose of the well would be to obtain gas production from the Rundle Group. The proposed well would be located approximately 6 kilometres north of the Hamlet of Bragg Creek. (See figure.)
