CONOCOPHILLIPS CANADA RESOURCES CORP.

Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public hearing of Application No. 1416243 at the Lakedell Agricultural Society, Lakedell Road, Westerose, Alberta, commencing on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.
Nature of the Application
ConocoPhillips Canada Resources Corp. (ConocoPhillips) has applied pursuant to Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for a licence to drill a Level-1 directional sour gas well from a surface location at Legal Subdivision (LSD) 1 of Section 27, Township 46, Range 2, West of the 5th Meridian to a projected bottom hole location in LSD 16-22-46-2 W5M. The maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration would be approximately 4.4 moles per kilomole (0.44 per cent) and the cumulative drilling H2S release rate would be 0.0187 cubic metres per second (m3/s). During the completion/servicing of the proposed well, the release rate would be 0.0229 m3/s, and the suspended/producing release rate would be 0.0167 m3/s. The corresponding calculated emergency planning zones (EPZs) would be 0.2 kilometres (km) for the drilling release rate, 0.22 km for the completion/servicing release rate, and 0.19 km for the suspended/producing release rate. The purpose of the well would be to obtain gas production from the Banff formation. The proposed well would be located approximately 15 km northwest of Westerose.

To File a Submission
Any person intending to make a submission with respect to the hearing of Application No. 1416243 shall file on or before 4:00p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2006. Send one copy of your submission to the applicant and ten copies to the EUB care of the application coordinator at the names and addresses listed above.
Notes
Any submission filed shall contain the following:
(a) a concise statement indicating
(i) the manner in which the intervener's rights may be directly and adversely affected by a decision of the Board on the proceeding,
(ii) the nature and scope of the intervener's intended participation,
(iii) the disposition of the proceeding that the intervener advocates, if any,
(iv) the facts the intervener proposes to show in evidence,
(v) the reasons why the intervener believes the Board should decide in the manner that the intervener advocates, and

In accordance with Section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.
Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.
