On October 31, 2006 Sarg Oils Ltd submitted an application for review of four Abandonment Orders issued with the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) pursuant to section 40 of the Energy Resources Conservation Act.
The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) scheduled a public hearing of Proceeding No. 1516389 at the Five Calgary, 618 – 5th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, commencing on November 21, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. The hearing was adjourned upon filing of the Motion by Sarg Oils Ltd.
Effective January 1, 2008, the EUB was replaced by the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) and the Alberta Utilities Commission. However, in accordance with section 80(3) the Alberta Utilities Commission Act, this matter shall be completed by the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board as if the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Act had not been repealed.
Take Notice that the EUB will hold a public hearing of Proceeding No. 1516389 at the offices of the Energy Resources Conservation Board, 640 – 5 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, commencing on Monday, March 24, 2008, at the hour of 1:30 p.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.
Nature of the Proceeding
Proceeding No. 1516389 arises out of a Board decision dated April 23, 2007, in which it was determined that Sarg Oils Ltd. was an affected party pursuant to Section 40(1) of the Energy Resources Conservation Act (ERCA) in connection with the issuance of four abandonment orders issued in October 2006. The particulars of these four abandonment orders, including an amendment to AD 2006-17 issued on October 19, 2006 (namely, AD 2006-17A), is summarized in the table below:
