CHANGES TO THE ELECTRONIC APPLICATION SUBMISSION (EAS) SYSTEM
The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) implemented electronic submission of applications for wells on October 1, 2003; for utilities Directive 028 and rate applications on June 7, 2004; and for resources Directive 065 applications on July 22, 2004. Implementing a system of this scope involved many challenges, and the EUB thanks applicants for their patience and support in contributing to the successful integration of electronic application business.
To accommodate upgraded functionality and to keep in line with technology changes, the EUB has moved to a common framework for all of its Web-based systems. Applicants will notice modifications to the DDS menu structure and EAS. For EAS, this common framework required moving from HTML/ASP to .NET technology for the Web application forms and upgrading from a file server to a document management system for the movement of application attachment files.
EAS and IAR Query are being upgraded and will therefore be unavailable during the weekend of September 24 - 25, 2005. Any applications created but not registered prior to September 24 will be deleted from EAS. All EAS-registered active applications will be converted to the new version.
Although these changes should be easily discerned by most users, the EUB would like to point out the following new features to be in effect on September 26, 2005:
