NOTICE OF RESCHEDULING OF HEARING

APPLICATIONS NO. 1318472, 1318484, AND 1318858

SPECIAL GAS WELL SPACING

The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) scheduled a public hearing of Applications No. 1318472, 1318484, and 1318858 of Applications No. 1318472, 1318484, and 1318858 at the offices of the National Energy Board, 444 - 7 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. The EUB has rescheduled the hearing by moving the commencement date forward by one day.

Take Notice that the EUB will hold a public hearing of Applications No. 1318472, 1318484, and 1318858 at the offices of the National Energy Board, 444 - 7 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, commencing on Thursday, June 10, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.

Nature of the Applications

Northrock Resources Ltd. (Northrock) applied pursuant to Section 79, Subsection 4 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act and Section 5.190 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for the suspension of the drilling spacing units and target area provisions and to establish separate holdings in Section 19 of Township 42, Range 9, West of the 5th Meridian (Section 19-42-9 W5M) (Application No. 1318858), Section 30-42-9 W5M (Application No. 1318472) and Section 36-42-10 W5M (Application No. 1318484). Northrock proposes that wells drilled in each holding for the production of gas from the Ellerslie Member, the Ostracod Sandstone, and the Rock Creek Member be subject to the following provisions:

  • A producing well shall be at least 600 meters from each other well producing from the same pool.

  • A producing well shall be at least 300 metres from the boundaries of the holding.

  • A maximum of two wells per pool per section shall be produced within each holding.

The Board has established the following filing deadlines for this hearing:

May 11, 2004 Final date for applicant to provide supplementary material in support of applications.

May 20, 2004 Final date for submissions by any parties having concerns respecting any of the applications.

June 1, 2004 Final date for any response from the applicant to the submissions filed by concerned parties.

Notes

Any submission filed shall contain information detailing:

(i) the desired disposition of the application,

(ii) the facts substantiating the position of the submitter,

(iii) the reasons why the submitter believes that the EUB should decide in the manner advocated, and

(iv) how the proposed project, if approved, may directly and adversely affect the submitter.

In accordance with section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.

If no submissions are received, this hearing may be cancelled and the EUB will continue to process the application without further notice or without a hearing.
