NOTICE OF POSTPONEMNT OF HEARING
APPLICATIONS NO. 1550490, 1550706, AND 1559022

Take Notice that the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB/Board) had scheduled a public hearing of Applications No. 1550490, 1550706, and 1559022 at the Lodgepole Multi-use Complex, 459 - 52 Avenue, Lodgepole, Alberta, commencing on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. The Board received a request from the applicant to reschedule the hearing and it agreed to grant the request.

Therefore, Take Notice that the public hearing of Applications No. 1550490, 1550706, and 1559022 scheduled to commence on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, has been postponed. The Board will determine a new date for the hearing of this matter and provide a Notice of Rescheduling on or before October 15, 2008.

Nature of the Applications
ConocoPhillips Canada (BRC) Ltd. (ConocoPhillips) applied, pursuant to Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations, for licences to drill two level-2 critical sour wells. Both wells would be drilled from a proposed surface location in Legal Subdivision (LSD) 5 of Section 15, Township 48, Range 9, West of the 5th Meridian. One well (Application No. 1550490) would be drilled to a projected bottomhole location at LSD 15-15-48-9W5M. The second well (Application No. 1550706) would be drilled vertically. The proposed wells are expected to encounter a maximum hydrogen sulphide concentration of approximately 300.0 moles per kilomole (mol/kmol) (30.0 per cent). The cumulative drilling H2S release rate for each well would be 4.2073 cubic metres per second with a corresponding emergency planning zone of 6.1 kilometres (km). The purpose of the wells would be to obtain crude oil production from the Nisku Formation. The proposed wells would be located approximately 6.7 km northeast of Lodgepole.

ConocoPhillips also applied, pursuant to Part 4 of the Pipeline Act, for approval to construct and operate a pipeline from the proposed wells at LSD 5-15-48-9W5M (Application No. 1559022)
Please note that ConocoPhillips withdrew Application No. 1559022 on October 2, 2008, and as such it will no longer form part of the above referenced proceeding.
