The ERCB is committed to improving compliance and enforcement information. The availability of compliance and enforcement information demonstrates the ERCB's commitment to open and transparent communication with all stakeholders. It will also assist licensees' to monitor their own progress and allow for continuous improvement.

Provincial Surveillance and Compliance Summary 2007
Details the oil and gas industry's compliance with ERCB requirements, the enforcement actions taken in cases of noncompliance, and the wide range of activities carried out by ERCB field staff.
Monthly: ST108: Monthly Enforcement Action Summary
The ERCB Monthly Enforcement Action Summary report summarizes High Risk Enforcement Action, High Risk Enforcement Action (Persistent Noncompliance), High Risk Enforcement Action (Demonstrated Disregard), High Risk Enforcement Action (Failure to Comply), Low Risk Enforcement (Refer status), and Legislative/Regulatory Enforcement Action noncompliance enforcement information, including company names. ST108: ERCB Monthly Enforcement Action Summary has been revised to reflect the prevention and enforcement responses for noncompliance in the most recent edition of Directive 019: Compliance Assurance, effective November 1, 2010.
Miscellaneous Order
A legal document that formally orders a specific action other than closure or abandonment, e.g., cleanup of a spill.
Closure Order
A legal document that formally orders the closure and suspension of a property and prevents any further operations from occurring without ERCB consent until the order is rescinded.
Abandonment Order
A legal document that formally orders a property to be properly abandoned by the responsible parties.
Decision to Issue a Declaration Naming Party Pursuant to Section 106 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act
A declaration naming one or more directors, officers, agents, or other persons whose company has failed to comply with an order of the Board or failed to pay an outstanding debt to the Board or to the Board to the account of the Orphan Fund.
