Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public hearing of 1423057, 1423066, 1423070, 1423083, 1423087, 1423097, 1423109, & 1423124 at the Lodgepole Multiuse Complex, 4501 - 52nd Avenue, Lodgepole, Alberta, commencing on Monday, June 12, 2006 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.
Nature of the Application
Dominion Exploration Canada Ltd. has applied pursuant to Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for licenses to drill three vertical and five directional Level 3 critical sour oil wells from five surface locations. The three vertical wells are to be located in Legal Subdivision (LSD) 15 of Section 11, Township 47, Range 10 West of the 5th Meridian, LSD 10-15-47-10W5M and LSD 6-32-47-10W5M. Three directional wells are to be drilled from a common surface location in LSD 9-14-47-10W5M to projected bottom hole locations in LSD 7-14-47-10W5M, LSD 14-14-47-10W5M and in LSD 16-14-47-10W5M. Two directional wells are to be drilled from a common surface location in LSD 10-28-47-10W5M to projected bottom hole locations in LSD 6-28-47-10W5M and LSD 16-28-47-10W5M. For all eight wells the maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration would be 266.7 moles per kilomole (26.67 per cent) and the cumulative H2S release rate for the drilling, completion and operating phases of the wells would be 5.00 cubic metres per second (m3/s) with a corresponding combined calculated emergency planning zone (EPZ) of 6.87 kilometres. The purpose of all eight wells would be to obtain oil production from the Nisku Formation. The proposed surface location at LSD 9-14-47-10 W5M would be approximately 4.0 kilometres southwest of the Hamlet of Lodgepole, the nearest urban centre.
