NOTICE OF POSTPONEMENT OF HEARING
APPLICATION NO.  1481229
CANETIC RESOURCES INC.

Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) has granted a request for the postponement of the public hearing regarding Canetic Resources Inc. (Canetic) Application No. 1481229. The hearing was to be held at the Causeway Bay Westwinds, 4225 – 50 Street, Drayton Valley, Alberta, commencing on Tuesday, November 13, 2007.  The Board’s decision was made after considering postponement requests from interested parties and Canetic. In addition, Canetic requested that it be allowed until December 7, 2007, to provide information to the Board as to how it will proceed with this application.  The Board has granted this request and directs that Canetic provide its response to the Board no later than December 7, 2007.

Therefore, Take Notice that the public hearing of Application No. 1481229 to commence on November 13, 2007 has been postponed. The Board will consider the rescheduling of this matter on or after December 7, 2007.

Nature of the Application
Canetic submitted an application in accordance with Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for a licence to drill a Level 3 critical sour well from a surface location in Legal Subdivision (LSD) 15 of Section 10, Township 50, Range 8, West of the 5th Meridian to a projected bottom hole location in LSD 1-15-50-8W5M.  The maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration expected to be encountered in the drilling of the well would be approximately 234.6 moles per kilomole (23.46 per cent) and the cumulative drilling H2S release rate would be 5.0 cubic metres per second (m3/s) with a corresponding emergency planning zone of 6.87 kilometres. The purpose of the well would be to obtain crude oil production from the Nisku Formation.  The proposed well would be located approximately 9 kilometres north and west of Rocky Rapids.

To File a Submission
The deadline to file a submission to the hearing was Monday, October 29, 2007.

Notes
Any submission filed shall contain the following:

(a) a concise statement indicating
  
(i) the manner in which the intervener’s rights may be directly and adversely affected by a decision of the Board on the proceeding,

(ii) the nature and scope of the intervener’s intended participation,

(iii) the disposition of the proceeding that the intervener advocates, if any,

(iv) the facts the intervener proposes to show in evidence,

(v) the reasons why the intervener believes the Board should decide in the manner that the intervener advocates, and

(vi) the intervener’s efforts, if any, to resolve issues associated with the proceeding directly with the applicant;

(b) the name, address in Alberta, telephone number, fax number and, if available, e-mail address of the intervener;

(c) If the intervener is represented by a representative, the name, address in Alberta, telephone number, fax number and, if available, e-mail address of the representative; and

(d) if the intervener is an unincorporated organization, the nature of the intervener’s membership.

If you have an interest in this matter, you are required to make a submission with respect to this application even if you have previously filed a submission with the Board or with Canetic Resources Inc. on this application.

Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.

In accordance with Section 12 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, all documents filed in respect of this proceeding must be placed on the public record unless otherwise ordered by the Board, subject to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

In accordance with Section 23.1 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, a person who intends to raise a question of constitutional law before the Board must give notice in accordance with Section 12 of the Administrative Procedures and Jurisdiction Act and its regulation.

In accordance with Section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.
