NOTICE OF EUB INFORMATION SESSIONS

Berkley Resources Inc. (Berkley) has submitted a well licence (Application No.1506785) to the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB). Berkley is proposing to drill a critical sour well with a maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration of 45 per cent and a resulting emergency planning zone of 7.70 kilometres (km). The proposed well would be located at 12-9-28-1W5M approximately 4.8 km south and west of the Town of Crossfield.

The EUB has determined that a prehearing will be held followed by a hearing to consider the proposed development. In order to assist the public who will be participating in the prehearing and the hearing, the EUB would like to invite all interested parties to attend an EUB Information Session to review the EUB’s hearing processes and the rules for intervener funding. Please note that the purpose of these sessions is to provide information intended to enable the public to engage effectively in the hearing process. Although EUB staff will not discuss the specifics of Berkley’s application, staff will provide information on how the public can obtain further information on the application.

The EUB has scheduled two Information Sessions to be held at the Crossfield Community Centre located at 920 Mountain Avenue on:
Monday, October 22, 2007 - 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 24, 2007 - 7:00 p.m.
