Take Notice that Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) may continue to process Application No. 1271519 without further notice if no objections are received on or before September 13, 2002.

Nature of Application

TransAlta Utilities Corporation (TransAlta) filed Application No. 1271519 with the EUB on June 5, 2002, requesting approval to amend licence No. C 97-32 by extending the term and area of the surface coal mine and reclamation operations over a ten year period as well as to adopt the planned cut sequence to prepare for the advance of mining from the subcrop in a southerly direction.

To File an Objection

Any person intending to file an objection with respect to Application No. 1271519 shall file the objection, on or before September 13, 2002. Send one copy of your objection to the applicant at the above-mentioned address, and ten copies of the objection to the attention of:

Any submission filed shall contain information detailing:

(i)                the desired disposition of the application;

(ii)      facts substantiating the position of the submitter; and

(iii)             reasons why the submitter believes the EUB should decide in the manner advocated. 

Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are dealt with by the Board, but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.
