PROCEEDING NO. 1516389

Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) will hold a public hearing of Proceeding No.1516389 at the Five Calgary 618 - 5 Avenue SW Calgary, Alberta, commencing on November 21, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. All parties registered for this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing.

Nature of the Proceeding
Proceeding No. 1516389 arises out of a Board decision dated April 23, 2007, in which it was determined that Sarg Oils Ltd. was an affected party pursuant to Section 40(1) of the Energy Resources Conservation Act (the ERCA) in connection with the issuance of four abandonment orders, including an amendment, issued in October 2006 as described below.

In this proceeding, the Board will consider:

  • What is Board's authority to issue the below-noted abandonment orders?
  • Was Sarg Oils Ltd. properly named in the below-noted abandonment orders?
  • If Sarg Oils Ltd. was properly named, are there any mitigating circumstances that require the Board to reconsider the issuance of the abandonment orders?

The particulars of these four abandonment orders, including an amendment to AD 2006-17 issued on October 19, 2006 (namely, AD 2006-17A), is summarized in the table below:
