Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public hearing of Applications No. 1252461 and 1272754 at the Quality Inn & Conference Centre in the Richmond C & D Rooms, 11201 100 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta, commencing on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.
Nature of the Applications
ConocoPhillips Canada Resources Corp. submitted applications in accordance with Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations (OGCR) for approval to drill a sour gas well, Section 7.001 of the OGCR to construct and operate an associated gas battery, and Part 4 of the Pipeline Act to construct and operate associated pipelines. The well and battery would be located at the same surface location in Legal Subdivision (LSD) 13 of Section 21, Township 74, Range 12, West of the 6th Meridian, approximately 17 kilometers north and west of Hythe. The pipelines would extend approximately 2 km east from the proposed gas battery and tie into an existing compressor station at LSD 14 of Section 22, Township 74, Range 12, West of the 6th Meridian.
The purpose of the applied for well is to obtain sour gas production from the Montney formation. The well would have a maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) content of 71.1 mol/kmol and a calculated H2S release rate of 1.096 cubic metres per second. The well would have an Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) of 2.45 km.
The proposed gas battery would include a 3-phase separator, storage tanks, and a flare system. The associated pipelines would transport natural gas with a maximum H2S concentration of 9.90 mol/kmol of H2S and sweet fuel gas.

If you have an interest in this matter, you are required to make a submission with respect to these applications even if you have previously filed a submission with the Board or with ConocoPhillips Canada Resources Corp. on these applications.
If there are no submissions received, this hearing may be canceled and the EUB will continue to process the applications without further notice or without a hearing.
In accordance with Section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.
Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.
