NOTICE OF APPLICATION
APPLICATION NO. 1340128
ALBERTA ELECTRIC SYSTEM OPERATOR (AESO) - NEED APPLICATION
138/25-kV BRETONA SUBSTATION 45S

Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) may continue to process Need Application No. 1340128 (the Application) without further notice if no valid objections are received on or before May 12, 2004.

Nature of Application
The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) applied on March 29, 2004, pursuant to section 34 of the Electric Utilities Act, for approval of the need to build and operate proposed 138/25-kV Bretona substation 45S in the Sherwood Park area, located adjacent to the eastern boundary of the City of Edmonton and more particularly described in the Application. The Bretona substation 45S would supply the new residential and commercial load growth in the Sherwood Park area.

To File a Submission
Any person intending to make a submission with respect to EUB Need Application No. 1340128 shall file their submission on or before May 12, 2004. Send one copy of your submission to the applicant at the above-mentioned address, and six copies of the submission to the attention of:

Any submission filed shall contain information detailing:

(i) the desired disposition of the application;

(ii) facts substantiating the position of the submitter;

(iii) reasons why the submitter believes the EUB should decide in the manner advocated; and

(iv) how the proposed project, if approved, may directly and adversely affect the submitter.
