NORTHWEST ALBERTA BORDER TO THUNDER CREEK COMPRESSOR STATION
Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) has received Application No. 1467403. This notice is to advise of the filing of this application. Note that if no submissions are received on or before Tuesday October 31, 2006, relating to the application, the EUB may continue to process this application without further notice.
Nature of the Application
NOVA Gas transmission Ltd. is proposing to expand and extend the Northwest Mainline of its Alberta Natural gas pipeline system to interconnect with the proposed Mackenzie Gas Project pipeline. The project proposed would be located immediately south of the Alberta/Northwest Territories border.
NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. has applied pursuant to Part 4 of the Pipeline Act for approval to construct and operate two (2) pipelines (Northwest Mainline, Dickins Lake Section and Northwest Mainline Loop, Vardie River Section) and one (1) associated pipeline installation (Northwest Territories Border Meter Station). The purpose of the Northwest Mainline, Dickins Lake Section would be to transport natural gas from the proposed Northwest Territories Meter Station located at LSD 15, Section 34, Township 126, Range 12, West of the 6th Meridian to a pipeline tie in point at LSD 5-19-120-11W6M. The proposed Northwest Mainline, Dickins Lake Section would be approximately 65.6 kilometres (km) in length, with an outside diameter (OD) of 914 millimeters (mm). The purpose of the Northwest Mainline Loop, Vardie River Section would be to transport natural gas from LSD 5-19-120-11W6M to NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd.’s existing Thunder Creek Compressor Station located at LSD 8-26-116-12W6M. The proposed Northwest Mainline Loop, Vardie River Section would be approximately 37.3 km in length, with an OD of 914 mm. The proposed associated Northwest Territories Border Meter Station would be located at the Northwest Alberta border at 15-34-126-12W6M. The purpose of the Northwest Territories Border Meter Station would be to measure gas flow.
The application is currently under review with the EUB to determine technical completeness.

Notes

Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.
