Nature of the Applications
Application No. 1256763
Vermilion Resources Ltd. (Vermilion), pursuant to Section 24 of the Oil and Gas
Conservation Act, has requested the Board to direct the transfer of the well licence for the 00/05‑19-073-03W5/0 (5-19) injection well and the associated pipeline licence from Trans World Oil & Gas Ltd. (Trans World) to Vermilion.
Application No. 1304050
Vermilion, pursuant to Section 26 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act, has applied to amend
the waterflood Approval No. 8015 and Project No. 338 to include the north half of Section 19‑073‑03W5 and the south half of Section 30-073-03W5. In addition, Vermilion has requested Enhanced Recovery Recognition (ERR) and Good Production Practice (GPP) status for the proposed expanded project area.
Take Notice that the EUB will be considering the technical and equity issues associated with the waterflood scheme operations in the approval area as necessary when it considers the above applications. In that regard, Trans World wrote to the Board on November 25, 2003, and identified the following two issues for consideration at the proceeding:
1. Whether the scheme, which is contemplated by Approval 8015 and Project No. 338, is being operated in a manner which maximizes the conservation of resources.
2. Whether the scheme, which is contemplated by Approval 8015 and Project No. 338, is resulting in inequities between the owners in the area.
On December 5, 2003, Vermillion contacted the Board and indicated that it consented to the above issues being considered as part of the proceeding.
The EUB considers that the issues raised by Trans World and consented to by Vermillion may be appropriately addressed within the scope of the proceeding. The EUB therefore expects parties to address these issues in their respective submissions and at the proceeding itself.
