NOTICE OF HEARING
APPLICATION NO. 1322956
SPECIAL OIL WELL SPACING 
GOOSE RIVER RESOURCES LTD.
REDWATER FIELD

Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) will hold a public hearing of Application No. 1322956 at the EUB Hearing Room, 12th Floor, 10055 – 106 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, commencing on Wednesday, June 15, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.

Nature of the Application
Goose River Resources Ltd. (Goose River) applied pursuant to Section 4.040 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations to establish drilling spacing units (DSUs) of one legal subdivision (Lsd) with the target area being within the DSU and having sides 100 metres from and parallel to the sides of the DSU, for the production of oil from the Mannville Group in the Southwest quarter of Section 25 of Township 55, Range 21, West of the 4th Meridian (Section 25).

Goose River further applied pursuant to Section 79, Subsection 4 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act and Section 5.190 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for the suspension of the drilling spacing units and target area provisions and to establish a holding in the Southwest quarter of Section 25.

Goose River proposes that wells drilled in the holding for the production of oil from the Mannville Group will be subject to the following provisions:

  • A producing well shall be at least 200 metres from each other well producing from the same pool.

  • A producing well shall be at least 100 metres from the boundaries of the holding.

  • A maximum of one well per pool per Lsd shall be produced within the holding.

  • The well with the unique identifier of 00/06-25-055-21 W4/0 shall be exempt from the buffer zone provision.

June 8, 2004 Final date for any response from the applicant to the submissions filed by concerned parties.

Notes

Any submission filed shall contain information detailing:

(i) the desired disposition of the application,

(ii) the facts substantiating the position of the submitter,

(iii) the reasons why the submitter believes that the EUB should decide in the manner advocated, and

(iv) how the proposed project, if approved, may directly and adversely affect the submitter.

In accordance with section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.

Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with be the EUB, but may be referred to the Surface Rights Board.

If no submissions are received, this hearing may be cancelled and the EUB will continue to process the application without further notice or without a hearing.
