Nature of the Application
Bow Valley Energy Ltd. applied pursuant to the Oil and Gas Conservation Act (the Act) for an order prescribing that all tracts within the drilling spacing unit comprising Section 23 of Township 54, Range 2, West of the 5th Meridian, be operated as a unit for the production of gas from the Ellerslie Member, through the well with the unique identifier of 00/07-23-054-02W5 (the 7-23 well).
The applicant requested, among other things, that costs and revenues under the pooling order be allocated on a tract area basis, and that it be named the operator of the well to be produced. In addition, the applicant requested EnCana Corporation (EnCana) pay a one time fee of $25 000 to the owners of the 7-23 well to obtain access to the well and a proportionate share of the cost of recompleting the 7-23 well for Ellerslie gas production. The applicant has not requested any penalty provisions in the proposed pooling order.
