Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) will hold a public hearing of Applications No. 1500699, 1499076 and 1487188 at the Edson and District Recreation Complex, #1 Golf Avenue, Edson, Alberta, commencing on Monday, June 4, 2007 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.

Nature of the Applications
Duvernay Oil Corp. (Duvernay) submitted to the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) Application 1500699 for a well licence, Application 1499076 for a battery and Application 1487188 for a pipeline. These applications are related and will be considered as a project application.

Duvernay submitted Application 1500699, pursuant to Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations (OGCR), for a resumption licence to re-enter and drill a vertical, Level 2 critical sour gas well. The well would have a surface location in Legal Subdivision (LSD) 8, Section 13, Township 54, Range 19, West of the 5th Meridian (the 8-13 well). The purpose of the well would be to produce natural gas from the Wabamun Formation. The gas to be produced from the proposed well would have a maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration of about 379.6 moles per kilomole (mol/kmol) (37.96 per cent). The maximum cumulative H2S release rate for the drilling and completion/servicing cases would be 7.42 cubic metres per second (m3/s), with a corresponding emergency planning zone (EPZ) of 9.0 kilometres (km). The maximum cumulative H2S release rate for the suspended/producing case would be 1.56 m3/s, with a corresponding EPZ of 3.11 km. The proposed well would be located approximately 12.9 km northwest of the Town of Edson.

Duvernay submitted Application 1499076, pursuant to Section 7.001 of the OGCR, to construct and operate a gas battery which would be located at the proposed 8-13 well site. The proposed battery would be designed to handle natural gas containing a maximum H2S concentration of 380 mol/kmol (38 per cent) and would include a line heater, inlet separator, compressor, dehydrator, condenser, emergency flare system, incinerator system and storage for produced water and hydrocarbon liquids.

Duvernay submitted Application 1487188, pursuant to Part 4 of the Pipeline Act, for approval to construct and operate a pipeline to transport natural gas from the 8-13 well to a pipeline tie-in point at LSD 6-34-53-19W5M. The proposed pipeline would be about 6.55 km in length, with a maximum outside diameter of 114.3 millimetres (mm), and would transport natural gas containing a maximum H2S concentration of 380 mol/kmol (38 per cent). The proposed pipeline would be operated as a Level 2 pipeline.
