Dan McFadyen
Dan McFadyen was appointed as the Chairman of the ERCB in February 2008.  Mr. McFadyen is a professional engineer with more than two decades of experience in public service and the energy sector.  He joined Alberta Energy as Deputy Minister in January 2006.  Previous positions held by Mr. McFadyen include: Vice-President, Regulatory Affairs and Public Policy, Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA); Deputy Minister of Energy in Nova Scotia; Chair and Acting President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Research Council; and Assistant Deputy Minister in several key energy-related positions in the Saskatchewan public service.

Brad McManus,  Q.C.
Brad McManus was appointed as a Board Member of the ERCB in January 2008.  Mr. McManus joined the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) as a Board Member in 1995, having served previously as a Board Member of the Public Utilities Board of Alberta (PUB) for five years.  He has been a member of numerous Board panels responsible for setting just and reasonable rates for Alberta’s electric and natural gas utilities, and has also sat on a full range of energy-related hearings.  Prior to joining the PUB, Mr. McManus practiced corporate and commercial law in Calgary for twelve years.

Jim Dilay, P.Eng. 
Jim Dilay was appointed as a Board Member of the ERCB in January 2008.  Mr. Dilay was previously appointed as a Board Member of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) in 1995.  He began his career at the EUB immediately upon graduation from university in 1971 and has worked in the organization for more than 37 years. He worked in a number of departments including gas, pipeline, drilling and production, and field operations, and served as Executive Manager of Operations prior to being appointed to the Board. 

Gordon Miller
Gordon Miller was appointed as a Board Member of the ERCB in January 2008.  Mr. Miller was previously appointed as a Board Member of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) in 1995, having served previously as a Board Member of the Public Utilities Board (PUB) for two years.  Prior to his appointment to the Board, Mr. Miller operated a diversified farm with his family near Vegreville, Alberta. Mr. Miller also enjoyed a career in public and community service. He was elected Councillor and Reeve of the County of Minburn.  Mr. Miller has also served as President of the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties.   

Michael J. Bruni, Q.C.
Michael Bruni was appointed as a Board Member of the ERCB in January 2008.  Mr. Bruni has both engineering and law degrees.  He joined the ERCB in 1979 after practicing law and was appointed General Counsel in 1980.  He served as General Counsel and was responsible for the Law Branch until January 2004 when he was appointed Executive Manager of the Energy Team.  This Team was predominantly responsible for ERCB’s energy operations.  Mr. Bruni has worked closely with the last eight Chairs, served as counsel on numerous major hearings and inquiries, and been an Acting Board Member on a number of hearings.

George Eynon, P.Geol.
George Eynon was appointed as a Board Member of the ERCB in April 2008.  Mr. Eynon is a professional geologist with over 25 years of technical and management experience in the upstream exploration and production oil and gas sectors worldwide with a number of companies.  He also has about 15 years of energy and management research and consulting experience with several organizations including the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI) for the past several years.  At CERI Mr. Eynon was responsible for portions of the research program, and publications, as well as business development, media relations, and conferences and training courses.

Theresa Watson, P.Eng.
Theresa Watson was appointed as a Board Member of the ERCB in July of 2009. A chemical engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree from McGill University, she has been the president of an engineering company since 1992, providing technical solutions to oil field problems within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and abroad. In her field experience, Ms. Watson specialized in areas including regulatory compliance, oilfield liability assessment, remedial cementing, wellbore abandonment, surface casing vent flow and gas migration repair with experience in light and heavy oil production, sour gas operations, drilling, joint ventures and asset consolidation. Prior to that enterprise, Ms. Watson was an engineer with Mobil Oil Canada for several years. Her work has been published in many papers and presentations with the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Canadian Association of Drilling Engineers, the International Energy Agency and others.
