Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public hearing of Application Nos. 1363097, 1363100, 1363101, 1363104, 1363107, 1363111, 1363114, 1363118, 1363121, 1363123, 1363124, 1363126, 1363128, and 1363132 at the Oyen Legion Hall, 311 Mehl Place, Oyen, Alberta, commencing on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.

Nature of the Application

Penn West Petroleum Ltd. has applied pursuant to Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations to drill 14 natural gas wells in Townships 31 and 32, Range 3, West of the 6th Meridian. The maximum hydrogen sulphide concentration of 13 of the 14 wells would be 0.0 mol/kmol (0.0 per cent). The purpose of the 13 wells would be to obtain gas production from the Viking Formation. The 14th well would have a maximum hydrogen sulphide concentration of 0.8 mol/kmol (0.08 per cent). The purpose of the 14th well would be to obtain gas production from the Mannville Group. Notes

Any submission filed shall contain the following:

(a) a concise statement indicating

(i) the manner in which the intervener's rights may be directly and adversely affected by a decision of the Board on the proceeding,

(ii) the nature and scope of the intervener's intended participation,

(iii) the disposition of the proceeding that the intervener advocates, if any,

Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.
