Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) may continue to process this application without further notice if no objections are received on or before April 15, 2002.
Nature of the Application
Murphy Oil Company Ltd. (Murphy Oil) has applied pursuant to Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for a licence to drill a Level- 4 critical sour well from a surface location in Legal Subdivision (LSD) 9 of Section 17, Township 40, Range 15, West of the 5th Meridian to a projected bottomhole location in LSD 1-21-40-15 W5M. The proposed well would be located approximately 3.2 kilometres south and west of Nordegg. The maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration would be approximately 11.67 per cent and the cumulative drilling H2S release rate would be 7.96 cubic metres per second (m3/s). The purpose of the well would be to obtain gas production from the Swan Hills Member.
