SPECIAL GAS WELL SPACING

Take Notice that examiners appointed by the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public hearing of the above applications at the offices of the EUB, 640 5th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, commencing on April 1, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.

Nature of the Applications

Vintage Petroleum Canada Inc. has applied under the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations and the Oil and Gas Conservation Act to establish holdings and special well spacing for the production of gas from the Badheart formation in the following area:

In Township 68, Range 22, West of the 5th Meridian:

Section 36 (Holding No. 2), and

In Township 69, Range 21, West of the 5th Meridian:

Sections 19 and 30 (Holding No. 3), and

In Township 69, Range 22, West of the 5th Meridian:

Section 9 (Holding No. 7)

Sections 10, 11 and 14 (Holding No. 8)

The applicant proposes that with the holdings:

         a producing well shall be at least 400 m from each other well producing from the same pool,

         a producing well shall be at least 200 m from the boundary of the holding.

         only three wells may be produced per section from the same pool.

Notes

Any submission filed shall contain information detailing:

(i)            the desired disposition of the applications,

(ii)               the facts substantiating the position of the submitter, and

(iii)             the reasons why the submitter believes that the EUB should decide in the manner advocated.

In accordance with section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.
