NOTICE OF HEARING

APPLICATIONS NO. 1305189 AND 1305190

WESTEROSE SOUTH FIELD

ANADARKO CANADA CORPORATION

 

Take Notice that examiners appointed by the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public hearing concerning Applications No. 1305189 and 1305190 at the offices of the Board, 640 5th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, commencing on Thursday, February 5, 2004, at 9:00 A.M.  All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.

 

Nature of the Applications

Anadarko Canada Corporation (Anadarko) applied pursuant to Section 79, Subsection 4 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act and Section 5.190 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for the suspension of the drilling spacing units and target area provisions and to establish separate holdings in Section 29 (Application No. 1305189) and Section 30 (Application No. 1305190), of Township 44, Range 1, West of the 5th Meridian.  Anadarko proposes that a well drilled in the holdings for the production of gas from the Glauconitic Sand be subject to the following provisions.

 

A minimum distance of 600 metres shall be maintained between wells producing from the same pool.

  1. A minimum distance of 300 metres shall be maintained between a producing well and the boundaries of the holdings.
  2. A maximum of two wells per pool per section may be produced within the holdings.

The Board has established the following filing deadlines for this hearing:

 

January 14, 2004:               Final date for submissions by any parties having concerns respecting the applications.

 

January 28, 2004:               Final date for any response from the applicant to the submissions filed by concerned parties.

Notes

Any submission filed shall contain information detailing:

 

(i)       the desired disposition of the applications,

(ii)      the facts substantiating the position of the submitter, and

(iii)     the reasons why the submitter believes that the EUB should decide in the                         manner advocated.

 

In accordance with Section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.

 

If there are no valid objections received, this hearing may be cancelled and the EUB will continue to process the applications without further notice or without a hearing.

 

Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB, but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.
