Nature of the Application

Montego Exploration Ltd. has applied pursuant to section 80 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act (the Act) for an order prescribing that all tracts within the drilling spacing unit comprising Section 24 of Township 25, Range 28, West of the 4th Meridian, be operated as a unit for the production of gas from the Belly River Group, through the well with the unique identifier of 00/12-24-025-28W4.

The applicant requested, among other things, that costs and revenues under the pooling order be allocated on a tract area basis, and that it be named the operator of the well to be produced. In addition, the applicant requested that the maximum penalty allowed under the Act be applied to the share of the costs of drilling the well to and completing it in the formation named in the order that is attributable to the tract within the southeast quarter of the section being 105.5 acres more or less, if the tract owner does not pay its share of costs within the time frame prescribed in the order.
