EUB To Hold Consultation Meeting on Proposed Bitumen Conservation Policy

Calgary, Alberta (June 30, 2003) - The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will hold a public consultation meeting regarding the EUB's proposed Bitumen Conservation Policy, beginning July 3, 2003, in Calgary. The meeting will provide interested parties that have provided submissions regarding the proposed policy the opportunity to speak to their submissions, as well as to those of others.

Members of the Media, please note:

• No electronic recording devices are allowed in the meeting room during sitting hours; this includes tape recorders, cameras and video cameras.
• Electronic recording devices are permitted during the Chairman's opening remarks only on the first day of the meeting.
• Media may use recording devices in the meeting room outside of meeting sitting times.
• Copies of meeting transcripts can be arranged.
• A media room will be in place during sitting hours in the Royal Meeting Room on Thursday, July 3, Friday, July 4, and if needed, on Saturday, July 5.

A media briefing will take place prior to the consultation meeting on Thursday, July 3 at 8:00 am to outline media guidelines during the consultation meeting.

The EUB ensures that the discovery, development, and delivery of Alberta's resources and utilities services take place in a manner that is fair, responsible, and in the public interest.
