ENERPLUS PIPELINE LEAK CLEAN UP OPERATIONS UNDERWAY

Calgary, Alberta (March 13, 2006) At approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2006, a leak occurred from an oil pipeline operated by Enerplus Resources Fund of Calgary. The pipeline leak occurred under the TransCanada Highway 5 km east of Tilley, Alberta. The pipeline was shut in and depressurized later that day.

Clean up operations continued on the TransCanada Highway (Highway 1) on Monday, March 13. As a precautionary measure, one eastbound lane of the TransCanada Highway was closed for a period of time on March 13 and has since been reopened.

EUB staff will continue to monitor clean up operations and, as is the normal practice, an investigation into the incident will be conducted.

The EUB ensures that the discovery, development, and delivery of Alberta's energy resources and utilities services take place in a manner that is fair, responsible, and in the public interest.
