EUB TO IMPLEMENT AUDITOR GENERAL RECOMMENDATION
Calgary, Alberta (October 4, 2007) The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) will implement the recommendation put forth in the annual report issued by Alberta’s Office of the Auditor General (OAG).
OAG Recommendation No. 24 states:
We recommend that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) implement an IT control framework to mitigate identified risks to the organization.
In response, the EUB has undertaken a program to completely implement the OAG’s recommendation. The EUB has also committed to delivering an action plan to the OAG within two months.
The EUB regulates investor-owned natural gas, electric, and water utilities to ensure that customers receive safe and reliable service at just and reasonable rates, and ensures that the discovery, development, and delivery of Alberta's resources take place in a manner that is fair, responsible, and in the public interest.
