EUB Increases Call Centre Efficiency
Partnership with provincial call centre established
Calgary, Alberta (November 2, 2007) The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) has enhanced the ability of Albertans to connect with EUB staff after regular business hours by forming a partnership with Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation’s Coordination Information Centre.
This service, which commenced on September 4, 2007, ensures that after hours calls to any of the EUB’s nine Field Centres located throughout Alberta will be answered directly by the Coordination Information Centre and information will be passed directly to EUB emergency response staff.
The service will be used for complaints, concerns or suspected oil or gas releases. The new partnership will result in savings of almost $14,000 per year.
The Coordination Information Centre was established in 1985 in response to the introduction of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations and is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days each year by technical specialists familiar with handling various levels of emergency response.
The EUB ensures that the discovery, development, and delivery of Alberta’s energy resources and utility services takes place in a manner that is fair, responsible, and in the public interest.
