ERCB INVESTIGATING GAS PLANT FIRE NEAR WORSLEY
Calgary, Alberta (February 13, 2008) The Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) is investigating an Alta Gas sour gas plant fire that occurred today at approximately 7:30 a.m.. The incident occurred in a remote area 60 kilometres northwest of Worsley.
One worker was injured and taken to hospital in Fairview.
Worsley fire crews extinguished the fire at approximately 10:00 a.m. today. There are no residences in the vicinity.
All appropriate authorities were notified, including the ERCB, RCMP, Worker Health and Safety, Alberta Environment and Emergency Management Alberta.
The ERCB ensures that the discovery, development, and delivery of Alberta's energy resources take place in a manner that is fair, responsible, and in the public interest.
