ERCB INVESTIGATING SWEET GAS PLANT TANK RELEASE
Calgary, Alberta (June 15, 2009) The Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) is investigating a release of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from an Advantage Oil and Gas Ltd. site
immediately east of Red Deer city limits, in the Deer Park area, that occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m. on June 15.
The incident is now over. The source of the leak has been discovered and the flow stopped.
There was no fire, no sour gas, and no danger to public safety.
ERCB inspectors are on site and an investigation has begun. All appropriate authorities have been notified.
LPG is a mixture of hydrocarbon gases and is used as fuel in heating appliances and vehicles.
The ERCB ensures that the discovery, development, and delivery of Alberta’s energy resources take place in a manner that is fair, responsible and in the public interest.
