Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) may continue to process this application without further notice if no valid objections are received on or before August 20, 2004.
Nature of Application No. 1342659
CAMS Midstream Services ULC (CAMSULC) (formerly Central Alberta Midstream (CAM)) has submitted Application No. 1342659 to the EUB in accordance with Part 4 of the Pipeline Act for approval to construct and operate a pipeline. The pipeline is intended to transport natural gas containing 70 moles per kilomole (mol/kmol) or 7.0 per cent (%) hydrogen sulphide (H2S) from a facility located at LSD 13-12-53-1 W6M to tie-in to an existing pipeline located at LSD 05-31-54-22 W5M. The proposed pipeline would be approximately 64.5 kilometres (km) in length with a maximum outside diameter of 274 millimetres (mm) and would be operated as a level-4 pipeline. The proposed pipeline would originate approximately 35 km northwest of Hinton and extend 65 km northeast to the Obed facility located approximately 45 km northeast of Hinton. The calculated Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) radius for the proposed segment of sour gas pipeline varies from 5.2 to 6.5 km. The proposed pipeline would parallel Central Midstream (CCR2) Company's existing line as shown on the map.
Nature of Application No. 1352851
Central Midstream (CCR2) Company (Central) has applied under Application No. 1352851 to the EUB in accordance with Part 4 of the Pipeline Act to amend its existing pipeline licence (Licence No. P32989). The existing pipeline segment is located from LSD 13-12-53-1 W6M to 4-31-53-25 W5M and currently transports natural gas containing 30 mol/kmol or 3% H2S. Central has applied to increase the H2S concentration in the pipeline to 70 mol/kmol or 7% H2S. The existing pipeline segment is approximately 26.4 km in length and has an outside diameter of 219.1 mm. The pipeline will continue to operate as a level-3 pipeline. The entire pipeline is represented on the map for ease of reference, but note the amendment applies only to this segment. The segment originates approximately 35 km northwest of Hinton and extends 26 km northeast to tie-in to an existing pipeline located approximately 25 km north of Hinton. The calculated EPZ radius for this segment of sour gas pipeline currently varies from 4.6 to 9.1 km. The proposed amendment would not affect the established EPZ.
Note that the above applications are an alternative to Suncor Energy Inc.'s application under Application No. 1339062 for a new pipeline transporting natural gas in the Cabin Creek and Simonette Fields.
The progress of the applications may be monitored on the EUB's Integrated Application Registry (IAR) system on the EUB's website at

The Board notes that CAMSULC conducted its public consultation and notification program for the subject application through the period March 2004 to July 2004, and advertised its proposal in the Hinton Parklander on March 15, 2004.
