Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB/Board) will hold a public hearing of Applications No. 1462052 and 1462724 at the Telus Convention Centre, 120 – 9 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, commencing on Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.

Nature of the Applications
Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. (Quicksilver Resources) submitted Application No. 1462052 pursuant to Part 4 of the Pipeline Act for approval to construct and operate a pipeline for the purpose of transporting natural gas from Legal Subdivision (LSD) 12 of Section 28, Township 38, Range 25, West of the 4th Meridian to a pipeline tie-in point at LSD 02-19-38-25W4. The proposed pipeline would be approximately 4.4 kilometres (km) in length with a maximum outside diameter of 168.3 millimetre (mm) and would transport natural gas with a maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration of 0.0 moles per kilomole (0.0 per cent). The proposed pipeline would be operated as a level 1 pipeline and would be located approximately 4.0 km south of the Hamlet of Joffre.

NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. (NOVA Gas) submitted Application number 1462724 pursuant to Part 4 of the Pipeline Act for approval to construct and operate a meter station for the purpose of interconnecting the proposed Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. pipeline into NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd.’s existing transmission system at LSD 02-19-38-25W4. The proposed meter station would have a maximum H2S concentration of 0.0 mole per kilomole (0.0 per cent). The proposed meter station would be located approximately 6.8 km south and west of the Hamlet of Joffre.

Any submission shall be filed electronically in PDF format and bookmarked and shall contain information detailing
(i) the desired disposition of the application,
(ii) the facts substantiating the position of the submitter,
(iii) the reasons why the submitter believes the Board should decide in the manner advocated, and
(iv) how the proposed project, if approved, may directly and adversely affect the submitter.

In accordance with Section 12 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, all documents filed in respect of this proceeding must be placed on the public record unless otherwise ordered by the Board.

In accordance with Section 23.1 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, a person who intends to raise a question of constitutional law before the Board must give notice in accordance with Section 12 of the Administrative Procedures and Jurisdiction Act and its regulation.

In accordance with Section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.
