NOTICE OF RESCHEDULING OF HEARING
PROCEEDING NO.  1482011
ENCANA CORPORATION

Take Notice that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) had scheduled a public hearing of Proceeding No. 1482011 at the Heritage Inn, 1217 – 2 Street W, Brooks, Alberta  commencing on Tuesday, January 30, 2007  at the hour of 9:00 a.m.  The Board received a request from interested parties to reschedule the hearing and it agreed to grant the request.

Therefore, Take Notice that the EUB will hold a public hearing of 1482011 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 235 – 3 Street W, Brooks, Alberta, commencing on  Friday March 9, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 am. All interveners to this proceeding must be present at the commencement of the hearing to register their appearance.

Nature of Proceeding No. 1482011

On February 1, 2002 and February 13, 2002, the Board approved Applications No. 1255723 and 1256723 and issued Well Licences No. 0267134 and 0267689 to PanCanadian Energy Corporation.  The licences permitted PanCanadian Energy Corporation (subsequently known as EnCana Corporation) to drill two natural gas wells.  Well Licence No. 0267134 is for a single gas well located at legal subdivision (LSD) 8, Section 25, Township 15, Range 15, West of the 4th Meridian.  Well Licence No. 0267689 is for a single gas well located at surface location LSD 13, Section 30, Township 15, Range 14, West of the 4th Meridian.  On April 21, May 4 and June 15, 2006 the EUB received letters from an affected party requesting that the Board conduct a review hearing relating to Well Licences No. 0267134 and 0267689, pursuant to Section 39 of the Energy Resources Conservation Act.  On September 18, 2006 the Board granted the request for a review hearing and registered the hearing as Proceeding No. 1482011.  The purpose of the review hearing is to determine whether the Board should confirm, vary or rescind its decision to grant Well Licences No. 0267134 and 0267689.

Nature of Application Nos. 1255723 and 1256723
PanCanadian Energy Corporation (subsequently known as EnCana Corporation) applied pursuant to Section 2.020 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations for two well licences.  Application 1255723 was to drill one vertical well located at LSD 8, Section 25, Township 15, Range 15, West of the 4th Meridian, with a maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration of 2.0 mols/kmol. The associated calculated EPZ is 0.160 km and there are no occupied dwellings in the EPZ.  The purpose of the well is to obtain gas production from the Viking Fm and the Basal Quartz.  The well is located approximately 8.2 km west of the Hamlet of Scandia. Application 1256723 was to drill one directional well located at surface location LSD 13, Section 30, Township 15, Range 14, West of the 4th Meridian, with a maximum hydrogen sulphide (H2S) concentration of 0.00 mols/kmol.  The purpose of the well is to obtain gas production from the Viking Fm and the Basal Colorado Sd.  The well is located approximately 8.4 km west of the Hamlet of Scandia.

Notes
Any submission filed shall contain the following:

(a) a concise statement indicating
  
(i) the manner in which the intervener’s rights may be directly and adversely affected by a decision of the Board on the proceeding,

(ii) the nature and scope of the intervener’s intended participation,

(iii) the disposition of the proceeding that the intervener advocates, if any,

(iv) the facts the intervener proposes to show in evidence,

(v) the reasons why the intervener believes the Board should decide in the manner that the intervener advocates, and

(vi) the intervener’s efforts, if any, to resolve issues associated with the proceeding directly with the applicant;

(b) the name, address in Alberta, telephone number, fax number and, if available, e-mail address of the intervener;

(c) if the intervener is represented by a representative, the name, address in Alberta, telephone number, fax number and, if available, e-mail address of the representative; and

(d) if the intervener is an unincorporated organization, the nature of the intervener’s membership.

If you have an interest in this matter, you are required to make a submission with respect to this application even if you have previously filed a submission with the Board or with EnCana Corporation on this application.

If there are no submissions received, this hearing may be cancelled and the EUB will continue to process the application without further notice or without a hearing.

Submissions relating exclusively to compensation for land usage are not dealt with by the EUB but may be referred to the Alberta Surface Rights Board.

In accordance with Section 12 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, all documents filed in respect of this proceeding must be placed on the public record unless otherwise ordered by the Board.

In accordance with Section 23.1 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, a person who intends to raise a question of constitutional law before the Board must give notice in accordance with Section 12 of the Administrative Procedures and Jurisdiction Act and its regulation.

In accordance with Section 38 of the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board Rules of Practice, witnesses must give evidence under oath or affirmation.
