STORAGE TANK FIRE NEAR FOX CREEK EXTINGUISHED

Calgary, Alberta (June 3, 2006) A condensate tank fire at the Trilogy Energy Ltd. gas plant 13 kilometres north of Fox Creek has been extinguished. The fire was confined to an isolated condensate tank on site. The gas plant remains in full operation.

No injuries were reported, no evacuations were necessary and all appropriate authorities were notified.

The Fox Creek Fire Department was deployed and the fire, which began at approximately Saturday June 3, 5:00 a.m., was extinguished at 12:30 p.m. the same day.

As is the normal practice, the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB), in cooperation with the Fox Creek Fire Department, will investigate the incident.

The EUB ensures that the discovery, development, and delivery of Alberta ’s resources take place in a manner that is fair, responsible, and in the public interest.
