ERCB INVESTIGATING SWEET GAS WELL BLOWOUT NEAR LAKE MCGREGOR
Calgary, Alberta (October 25, 2008) The Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) is investigating a sweet gas well blowout that began at 8:00 am on Saturday, October 25 approximately 2.5 kilometres from the community of Lake McGregor and about 90 metres from Lake McGregor.
Well control efforts were successful and the blowout ended at 11:15 am. A new wellhead was installed and the incident is now over.
There were no injuries, no fire and no public impact. All appropriate authorities were notified.
