ERCB INVESTIGATING SHELL WATERTON INCIDENT
Calgary, Alberta (June 22, 2009) The Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) is investigating a sour gas release that occurred at the Shell Waterton gas plant on Sunday, June 21 at approximately 9:30 p.m.
There were no injuries and the incident ended at approximately 11:58 p.m.
During the incident, 14 area residents were notified. There were no evacuations and all residents remained in their homes.
Stationary and mobile air monitoring units in the area did not detect any sour gas readings.
All appropriate authorities were notified.
As is the normal practice, the ERCB will conduct an investigation into the incident.
