March 28, 2011 - ERCB Earns Best Employer for New Canadians Honour
The ERCB has been recognized as one of the Best Employers for New Canadians 2011 for the second year in a row. Managed by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, the designation recognizes Canada’s best employers for recent immigrants. Key reasons for receiving the honour included subsidies for ESL classes at post-secondary institutions and partnerships with various institutions to provide newcomers with work placement opportunities. The Best Employer for New Canadians designation is the second major honour for the ERCB this year. In February, the ERCB was named one of Alberta’s Top 50 Employers for the third year in a row.

Organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, the designation recognizes Alberta employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional work places. April 8, 2010 - ERCB Named One of Best Employers for New Canadians
The ERCB has once again been recognized as a great place to work, being named in the Best Employers for New Canadians 2010 competition by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers.
The Best Employers for New Canadians competition recognized the ERCB as being among the nation's 35 top employers in terms of offering meaningful programs for recent immigrants.
For the New Canadians competition, employers were evaluated for:
- offering programs specifically designed to assist employees who are recent immigrants to Canada;
- taking steps to reduce employment barriers for recent immigrants;
- providing assistance to have foreign professional or educational credentials formally recognized in Canada;
- offering programs such as internal coaching or mentoring; and
- training managers and employees in cross-cultural issues or inclusiveness.
Specifically, the ERCB is being recognized for:
- reimbursing the cost of APEGGA membership fees for new Canadian employees;
- covering English language training for employees; and
- subsidizing the cost of upgrading or bridging courses at outside institutions.
The New Canadians competition is run in partnership with the Government of Canada's Foreign Credential Recognition Program.
October 17, 2009 - ERCB named one of Alberta 's best workplaces
For the second year in a row, the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) has been selected as a winner in the Alberta 's Top 50 Employers competition. This is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada 's Top 100 Employers . This special designation recognizes the Alberta employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
“The Energy Resources Conservation Board is a great place to work,” said ERCB Chairman Dan McFadyen . “It is a unique workplace, where employees truly can make a difference in the interest of all Albertans.”
“This is a significant achievement for us and it is great to see the ERCB being recognized for the diverse career opportunities we offer, our commitment to providing a positive work environment, and our dedication to working in the public interest,” McFadyen concluded.
The ERCB's nearly 900 staff work in 13 locations across Alberta.
