Publication formats
Historically, paper has been the dissemination format standard for most of the ERCB's publications and documents. In an ongoing effort to reduce costs, lessen the environmental impact, and provide our customers with more timely and convenient information, most publications highlighted in the 2010 Catalogue will be offered in an electronic format. Effective January 1, 2001, this format is the ERCB's dissemination standard. Print copies are still available, but upon REQUEST ONLY. Customers who request print copies will be subject to an additional $30 service charge and, depending on the size of the document, may have to place orders well in advance in order to compensate for print time.
The ERCB is committed to the electronic dissemination of information and data. However, due to the changing nature of technology, the ERCB does not guarantee that the data will be readable over time. Factors such as the quality and conditions of storage, as well as the availability of appropriate software or hardware to support, extract, or maintain the data, will affect its longevity. Customers are cautioned not to rely on any electronic dissemination medium, including but not limited to diskettes or CDs, for long-term archival purposes. Consideration should be given to transferring data to a lasting format or to identifying appropriate migration strategies. The ERCB is not responsible for any costs incurred due to conversion, installations, or improvement of ERCB data files. Refunds for electronic information will only be considered if there is a demonstrable fault with the media (diskette, CD, etc.)
