Enhancements to ST13A: Alberta Gas Plant/Gas Gathering System Activities—Annual Statistics

The Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) ST13A: Alberta Gas Plant/Gas Gathering System Activities—Annual Statistics contains annual volumetric data for gas plant and gas gathering system activities, such as receipts, dispositions, and processes. The data are extracted annually from the Petroleum Registry of Alberta (PRA).

ST13A has been revised to enhance the data reported to serve our customers more efficiently and effectively. Specific changes are listed below.

1 Changes to the ST13A PDF Version

1.1 Revisions

Data on the ST13A are displayed in rows, with a column indicating the year referenced. Activity names have been revised to reflect data displayed.

• Marketed: this disposition activity has been expanded with activities such as Disposition to Battery, Gas Gathering System, Gas Plant, Meter Station, Other, Alberta Commercial, Alberta Industrial, Alberta Residential, and Alberta Electrical Generation since the introduction of the PRA in 2002. Historical ST13A reports still display the Marketed data in total and are available on the ERCB Web site www.ercb.ca.
• Disposition Other: a new row that displays dispositions to destinations other than those dispositions recorded in all of the other rows in the report.
• Refinery: this activity has been grouped with Disposition Other.
• Meter Station: the formula has been revised to display all activities delivered to meter stations.
• Shrinkage: the formula has been revised to display the proper shrinkage volumes reported.
• Diff and Other: previously labelled "Meter Diff, displays metering differences and inventory adjustments reported.
• Process and Frac: previously labelled "Plant Process"; the formula has been revised for all products listed to include all process (PROC) and fractionation (FRAC) quantities.
• Sulphur Closing Invent: this has been revised to show the December closing inventory value instead of the cumulative value for the year.

1.2 Addition of Summary Tables

Summary pages have been added to show cumulative results by Gas Plant and Gas Gathering System facility subtypes. Facility Subtypes have been grouped by the following codes:

• 401: Gas Plant Sweet; 402: Gas Plant Acid Gas Flaring < 1T/D Sulphur; 403: Gas Plant Acid Gas Flaring > 1T/D Sulphur; 404: Gas Plant Acid Gas Injection; 405: Gas Plant Sulphur Recovery
• 406: Gas Plant Mainline Straddle
• 407: Gas Plant Fractionation
• 621: Gas Gathering System

The summary tables are subtotalled in a separate report called ST13A: Alberta Gas Plant/Gas Gathering System Activities—Annual Statistics—Summary Pages. Overall subtotals are displayed at the end of the report for each reporting activity.

1.3 Cumulative Annual Volumetric Data

The annual volumetric data now displays data from year 2002 onward. The data for years 1993 to 2001 are available in prior year’s reports on the ERCB Web site. Years prior to 1993 are available from the ERCB library.
