NGL Inquiry
A joint energy/utilities inquiry will resume on Tuesday (May 27) in Govier Hall, with a closed-circuit feed into West Hall. The purpose of the NGL Inquiry is to investigate potential inequities surrounding the conventions and practices with respect to the removal of Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) from natural gas at large extraction facilities located on regulated pipelines in Alberta. The Inquiry will examine if these conventions and practices need to be changed, what those changes might be, and how they would be implemented. A decision by the EUB is expected in the fourth quarter of 2008. Because the EUB issued the original notice inquiry in June 2007, this remains an EUB proceeding.
As space in both Govier Hall and West Hall is expected to be very limited in the first week of the inquiry, staff who wish to observe the proceedings may have to do so from West Hall. However, if it is too crowded, you may have to wait until there is more space available before attending. Please remember that organizational policy now requires all staff (ERCB and AUC) to wear name tags if they choose to attend.
