Business Systems and Process Specialists
The Business Systems and Process Specialists (BSPS) section provides centralized technical advice, troubleshooting, and support to all internal groups within the Applications Branch. It acts as liaison between the Applications and ISS Branches and provides analysis and recommendations regarding the system design and testing of the Applications Branch’s suite of IT solutions. Field Operations Group
Operating out of nine field centres, Field Operations Group staff inspect the construction, operation and abandonment operations at oil, gas, and oil sands facilities. They also respond to emergencies and public complaints on a 24-hour basis, facilitate resolution of landowner-industry conflicts, participate in public-industry liaison committees and ensure a consistent approach to non-compliant operators. Field Operations contributes to industry's understanding and knowledge of ERCB requirements and regulations at the field level. They also assist industry in understanding the requirements by clarifying regulations and procedures.

Emergency Management Group

The Finance Branch is responsible for ensuring that the ERCB maintains appropriate financial stewardship over public funds by providing accounting, planning, budgeting and reporting services. Finance is also responsible for providing assistance in the development of an appropriate internal control framework, helping to identify emerging issues, risks, and opportunities. Information Collection and Dissemination - Functional Overview
As Information System Services (ISS) transitions toward enhanced service delivery, a number of ways have been identified to improve the value ICD delivers in support of the new ISS vision.
ICD will fill a more strategic role within ISS and the ERCB, and is undergoing some exciting changes to align to and increase support of the ISS strategies.

- Validate the quality of the received well log information based on conditions set forth in regulatory documents.
- Manage incidences of well log noncompliance to resolution.
- Investigate and respond to appeals, ensuring the required information and copies are available.
- Manage approved waivers from the geo sciences areas, ensuring the approvals information is integrated into the compliance evaluation processes as required.
- Aide industry in their understanding of and ability to meet their obligations to submit high quality well log data.
- Respond to industry inquiries through the Well Log Help Line and email contact boxes
Well Test Team, Lead: Vacant
- Ensure receipt and validate the quality of the received information (such as reservoir pressure and deliverability, and reservoir fluid samples)based on conditions set forth in regulatory documents.
- Manage incidences of well test data noncompliance, including exemption and extension requests, to resolution.
- Aide industry in their understanding of and ability to meet their obligations to submit high quality well test data.
- Respond to industry inquiries through the Well Test Help Line
Well Data Services, Team Lead: Abi Adeniran
- Ensure receipt of well drilling and completion information from industry including electronic submissions and directional survey reports.
- Validate the quality of the received information based on conditions set forth in regulatory documents
- Manage incidences of well drilling and completion data noncompliance to resolution.
- Set up and support company administrator DDS accounts.
- Aide industry in their understanding of and ability to meet their obligations to submit high quality well drilling and completion data

Production Accounting, Team Lead: Paul Onunkwor

- Ensure receipt and validate the quality of the received production information based on conditions set forth in regulatory documents

- Investigate and respond to appeals, and issue credit memos.
- Aide industry in their understanding of and ability to meet their obligations to submit high quality production data.
- Respond to industry inquiries through the Production Accounting Help Line
Core, Drill Cuttings and Tours, Team Lead: Holly Naysmith
- Collect, verify and inspect received core and drill cutting geological samples based on conditions set forth in ERCB regulatory documents.
- Collect, review, reconcile, support and follow up on printed drilling and completion data (paper Tours) received.
- Manage incidences of Core and Drill Cuttings, and paper Tour noncompliance, including exemption and extension requests, to resolution.
- Approve Core sampling.
- Track, manage and report on Core Analysis submissions.
- Aide industry in their understanding of and ability to meet their obligations to submit core and drill cuttings, paper Tours, and Core Analysis.
Data Non-Compliance, Technical Lead: Holly Naysmith
- Establish and maintain processes for management of incidences of non-compliance for consistent use across ICD.
