Mediators - Duties
The mediator's job is to help the parties reach a settlement that meets their interests acceptably. The mediator is not a decision-maker, legal adviser, or solution provider.
Credentials
- subscribed to a code of ethics or conduct of a relevant professional association or society
- working knowledge of interest-based dispute resolution techniques and sufficient related training
- documented experience
- appropriate insurance coverage
- willingness to travel and take orientation programs
